As your prosecutor, I am charged with the responsibility of representing the State of Indiana in all felony and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions resulting from crimes committed in Perry County.  In addition, the Perry County Prosecutor’s office prosecutes all traffic and other infraction violations, enforces child support orders entered in divorce and paternity cases, conducts juvenile adjudications and prosecutions, and provides information and assistance to victims of crime.

My vision for the Perry County Prosecutor’s Office is based on three fundamental principles:  Prosecution, Protection and Prevention with tough but fair prosecution being job one.

Biography:
Prior to being elected prosecutor, Robert (Bob) Collins served as a deputy attorney general for the State of Indiana, a federal agent and a state trooper.

Bob is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Indiana, the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts, and the Supreme Court of Michigan. He earned his Jurist Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1981, was a Public Administration Masters Candidate at the University of California in 1988, and obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree from Northern Michigan University in 1972.

Bob's professional memberships include the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, the National District Attorneys Association, the Michigan Bar Association, the Perry County Bar Association, the Perry County Substance Abuse Committee, the Perry County Domestic Violence Committee, the Fraternal Order of Police of Perry County Lodge #137, and the Indiana Sheriffs Association. Bob is also a member of the First Baptist Church of Tell City, the Tell City Kiwanis Club, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1424, and Hoosier Heights Country Club.

Bob was born in 1950 and is a native of Perry County. He is the son of Marie Collins (Daum) of Cannelton and the late Robert H. Collins of Tell City. He lives in Tell City with his wife Kimberley.
