The Perry County Child Support Division was established by Federal law and operates under the authority of both State and Federal law for the benefit of dependent children.

Parents receiving TANF Benefits for their children must pursue child support services through their local prosecutor’s office. Parents of children enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise can get child support services at no cost.

Many of our Perry County children suffer despair and deprivation due to non-custodial parents’ failure to pay their child support. The Perry County Child Support division is committed to helping enforce child support; despite having a limited staff and over 1,300 open child support cases.

The Perry County Child Support Division has been successful in enforcing and collecting support. Annual child support collection totals are as follows:

As of December 2009, statistics show that of 92 counties in Indiana, Perry County is ranked 18th best in collecting current child support and 13th best in cases paying on arrears and 14th best in order establishment and 7th best in paternity establishment.
