Policies and Procedures:

When coming to the office for a scheduled meeting, you should bring all documents important to your case with you. Example: Court Orders, birth certificates, social security cards, etc.

You are expected to be at all scheduled meetings, appointments, and hearings on time. The time that the Support Office has for appointments is limited, and it may be some time before you can be rescheduled. If you are unable to attend a meeting, you will need to contact the Support Office at least one day prior to the meeting. If you do not attend a scheduled meeting and you are receiving assistance, you will be sanctioned.

When speaking to a Child Support Worker about your case, you should be courteous and respectful. When issues involving families, and especially children, are involved, emotions understandably run high. However, no worker must accept yelling, foul language, etc. Once you are warned, if such conduct continues, the worker may terminate the phone call, meeting, or consultation.

Walk-in visits without an appointment are generally discouraged but accepted. It is better to call to set up an appointment ahead of time. Individuals walking in are more likely to have to wait behind other scheduled appointments, or to miss the worker they came to see due to that individual being out of the office for Court, an appointment, or other reason. Be aware that if you walk in you will almost certainly have to wait.
